Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Fridg mobile app and the fridghq.com / fridghq.app websites (together, "Fridg" or the "Service"). By creating an account or using Fridg, you agree to these terms.

1. What Fridg is

Fridg helps you track your fridge, pantry, and bar; plan meals; get AI-generated recipe and drink-pairing suggestions; build grocery lists; and share a kitchen with others. Fridg is a consumer convenience tool, not a professional service.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to use Fridg.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

3. AI-generated content — important limits

Foraj, Fridg's AI assistant, generates suggestions using AI models. AI output can be wrong. In particular:

• Allergies and dietary needs: Fridg filters recipes based on the preferences you set, but you must always verify ingredients yourself before eating anything. Do not rely on Fridg as your only safeguard against allergens. Product formulations change, data sources contain errors, and AI can make mistakes.
• Food safety: Expiration reminders are estimates based on the data you enter. Use your own judgment about whether food is safe to eat.
• Alcohol: Drink-pairing and Cocktail Mode features are for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. Drink responsibly.
• Nutrition: Nutrition information is approximate and not medical advice.

4. Shared kitchens

If you join or create a shared kitchen, other members can see and edit the shared inventory and lists. Only invite people you trust, and don't add content to a shared kitchen that you wouldn't want other members to see.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. That includes: attempting to access other users' data, reverse-engineering or disrupting the Service, using it for anything unlawful, or abusing the AI features (for example, attempting to generate harmful content through Foraj).

6. Third-party services

Fridg integrates with third-party services, including Instacart for grocery checkout and Spoonacular for recipe data. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Fridg is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content — including grocery orders placed through Instacart.

7. Your content

You own the content you add to Fridg (inventory entries, photos, notes). You grant us the limited license needed to store and process that content to operate the Service — for example, sending a receipt photo to our AI provider to recognize items. We don't use your content for advertising or sell it.

8. Availability and changes

Fridg is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Termination

You can stop using Fridg and delete your account at any time (see account deletion). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Your use of Fridg is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fridg and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app. Continuing to use Fridg after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
